But what is truffle? It’s one of the most precious ingredients of the world, used to enrich even the simplest dish. Its pungent smell and strong flavor change completely the nature of a dish, giving them an unmistakable taste.

Truffles are the fruiting bodies of a subterranean fungus that grows close to the roots of some trees. Due to its nature, truffles can be pretty hard to detect, and it would be almost impossible without the help of truffle dogs' super-developed sense of smell.
